Description:
A very special note about human-ear is that humans do not posses control over activity of this vital organ.
An incidental sound has to be heard by a human being unless she /he is sleeping or unconscious.
Ofcourse there are artificial ways, but natural. However,
another fact is that everyone of us may have different capacities of listening to the same sound.
We range from people who can listen to even a slightest noise to people – completely deaf.
This particular document intends to connect a technological solution (to this problem) and the socio-economical
(and why not political) conditions in India (and countries alike). We encourage the readers to implement the device
and/or provide us with their inputs and/or observations.

Social Spaces Project
Authors:
Emma Crichton
Description:
This Project was developed by Students of Engineers without Borders -Uk. And all 40 DBRT students and staff were involved. The project involved 2 weeks of planning (10 Powerpoint lessons and a Google Sketchup plan), 1 week of working on the space from 6.30am - 8am and 5 full days of construction. The design brief given to students was 'To design and construct a social space at Vigyan Ashram. The budget is Rs 10,000 (£116) but use as much scrap material as possible and the design must have a low water use.' The students designed and constructed all elements in the space - they had ownership of the project. The students worked in small groups of 4. Four groups (16 students) designed and constructed the path up to the main space. Seven groups worked in the main circle (diameter 24m) on the decorations, furniture, sculptures, planting, shelter, games and lighting. All material used was bought locally or re used from waste material at Vigyan Ashram. In the end, Rs 8286 (£96) was spent.
