Learning By Doing

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 aims to transform the education system by integrating vocational training from classes 6 to 8 through hands-on learning aligned with academic subjects. As part of this, students engage in skill-based courses like carpentry, gardening, and pottery, including internships with local artisans. Vigyan Ashram, with support from Samagra Shiksha, SCERT, and UNICEF, developed a training manual and has been implementing the program in 60 schools across 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh since 2021. The initiative emphasizes experiential learning aligned with NSQF and supports teachers in effective NEP implementation.
