Vigyan Ashram has developed an innovative Solar Powered Grey Water Recycling System aimed at addressing the critical issue of water scarcity and environmental pollution in rural settings. This eco-friendly system treats grey water using a combination of reed bed bio-filtration and solar-powered air bubbling, eliminating the need for conventional electricity. The system significantly reduces the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) of wastewater from 2500 ppm to below 250 ppm, making it suitable for agricultural use. Successfully implemented in Khanersar village, the solution is designed for decentralized, low-cost operation—making it ideal for small hamlets and rural clusters lacking access to conventional sewage treatment infrastructure.
