BOLT (Battery Operated Low-cost Tractor) is an innovative, electric-powered farming vehicle developed by the Design Innovation Centre (DIC) at Vigyan Ashram. Designed for small and marginal farmers, BOLT offers a sustainable alternative to traditional diesel tractors. It is compact, lightweight, and affordable, making it ideal for operations like tilling, weeding, and material transport in small fields and polyhouses. Developed through Vigyan Ashram’s “learning by doing” approach, the BOLT tractor promotes clean energy, low maintenance, and cost-effective mechanization in rural agriculture.
